While sitting in an office in Ewing Manor reading a century-old personal journal, Dr. Miranda Lin sometimes laughed out loud. At other times she was surprised to read about a place in China or Thailand she’d been to. Born in Taiwan and fluent in Mandarin, the School of Teaching and Learning professor was tapped to interpret some of the writings and artifacts from Davis and Hazle Buck Ewing’s 1924 trip around the world.

Illinois State sees total enrollment climb with largest entering class in the University’s history

Illinois State University welcomed 4,285 First Time in College (FTIC) students for the 2024-2025 academic year, its largest incoming class in the University’s history, up 3 percent from last year. The new class of students is also the most diverse in school history. Total enrollment is 21,546, marking a 2.7 percent increase over the previous year.
